Welcome to the InstantDocHub Private Beta
Today we are opening InstantDocHub to a small group of private beta users. It is an early version of a tool we have wanted for a long time: a simple, focused place to store documents, share them safely, and find them again later without digging through email threads.
Why we are building this
Most of us have sent a contract, a spreadsheet, or a slide deck as an attachment and then lost track of where it went. Once a file leaves your hands, you usually cannot take it back, see whether it was opened, or know which version the other person is looking at. We wanted a lightweight answer to that problem that does not require a week of setup.
What is in the first release
- Secure share links that can expire after a set period or be revoked at any time.
- Per-user access controls, so you decide who can view, comment, or edit.
- In-browser previews for PDF, Word, and Excel files, with no downloads required.
- Team workspaces with shared folders for groups that work together.
- Version history that keeps earlier copies when a file is replaced.
- Full-text search across the documents you have access to.

What to expect from the beta
This is a beta in the honest sense of the word. Some things will be rough, a few will break, and we will change our minds about details as we hear from you. We are a small team, so we would rather ship small improvements often than hold everything back for a big launch.
We will use this blog to post short release notes and occasional engineering write-ups about how things work under the hood. If you run into a problem or have an idea, the feedback button inside the app goes straight to the people writing the code.
